Description

Wallaby Track has developed the Heavy Duty Half Height Cage Kit which is the perfect solution for keeping your gear and dogs secure. Sitting just 250mm from the top of the tub to the top of the canopy, it is ideal for fitting a roof top tent while keeping a low profile for carparks, drive-throughs and tight clearances. The kit is easily removable and as the canvas breathes it is ideal for carrying dogs and won’t sweat when transporting fridges.

Frame & Construction

  • Heavy duty black powder coated steel frame
  • 250mm from top of tub to top of frame
  • 110kg travelling capacity, 280kg stationary
  • Roof top tent mounts directly on top — no ladder racks required. Mounting kit included, suits any RTT using the sliding channel bolt method (approx. 95% of roof top tents sold in Australia).
  • Ladder racks can also be fitted if required — ideal for 270 degree awnings
  • Canvas attaches to the frame by velcro — no buttons need to be fitted to the tub

 

Panels & Locks

  • Rear access only — no side doors. Access is via the single gas strut assisted rear door
  • 3mm hexagonal punched aluminium mill finish fixed side and front panels — (black powder coating available)
  • No roof panel — designed to allow roof top tent to sit directly on top
  • Gas strut assisted rear door with 2 keyed alike drop T locks
  • Canvas has a single rear zipped opening to allow the rear cage door to open
  • 4 bolt installation to inside tub lip using heavy duty steel black powder coated brackets

  • 100% waterproof
  • 98% dustproof with tailgate seal fitted — dust ingress barely noticeable in testing
  • Canvas side flaps available as an option for additional airflow when carrying dogs

Assembly

  • 2 people required, capable of lifting 35kg each
  • Tools needed: cordless drill, 10mm steel drill bit, allen key set, 16mm spanner, Phillips head screwdriver, pop rivet gun

Notes

  • For total security the tailgate must also be lockable, as the rear cage door does not overlap the tailgate
  • If your tub has an over lip tub liner this will need to be cut to fit. If the tub liner is under lip no modification is required

Equipment Shelf

The equipment shelf enables gear to be stored at top of tub level. This is a game changer in terms of organisable storage. It allows everything to be easily accessed at each end of the tub. Grabbing eskys to boxes, beer to gear is so easy with the equipment shelf.  It is made from heavy duty 3mm aluminium with a weight carrying capacity of 80kg (spread across shelf). There is a cab end shelf and a tailgate end shelf. Each shelf is 600mm wide with multiple tie down points. The shelves are tailored to your ute. You can choose the cab end, the tailgate end or best of all you can choose both!  The shelf is bolted to the frame side rails of the canopy frame using 4 x 10mm bolts. Please note the cab end shelf is not interchangeable with the tailgate end.
